Beneficial AND Harmful Effects OF Tissue Cells IN THE Human Gut
Question: What Is the Beneficial and Harmful Effects of Tissue Cells in the Human Gut? Answer: Introduction A tissue is section of an organism that contains many cells with similar structures and roles. Examples include the connective tissue and nerve tissue cells. The human gut has a number of tissues called the lymphoid tissues throughout the intestine covering the greatest area of the intestine. The main reason behind this is majorly to increase the surface area for the food absorption. The increased surface area is achieved by the intestinal mucosa composed of villi and also covered by the epithelial cells. Below the epithelial cells are other loose connective tissues (lamina propia) (Kim, Shivdasani, 2016). Beneficial and Harmful Effects of Tissue Cells in the Human Gut A great number of the bad bacteria always thrive in the unhealthy tissues and bad cells within the gut. For example, increased consumption of junk food acts as catalysts in the multiplication of the bad gut cells. However, when one observe diet and avoid other alcoholic drinks including other antibiotics, the gut tissue cells will have a great and easy function by providing the optimal conditions. The tissue cells however have a greater role in the human gut including physiological function of food absorption (Bartfeld et al., 2015). Tissue cell and tissue cell trafficking is always linked with lymphoid tissue as an important aspect in diseases pathogenesis. For example, the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic intestinal disorder where most patients suffer the effects of bleeding, fever and abdominal pains among other disorders. However, when medical examinations are done on the living cells obtained from the patients who show the existence of an active disease, large numbers of leukocytes can be seen. However, during this process, a great injury may be caused to the intestines including loss of the globlet cells or reduced production of mucus that plays a significant role in the functioning of the gut. Despite the fact that there is serious risk of intestinal inflammation, it can on the other hand be recognized that there is a boosted immune system and the tissue cells play a very great role of fighting disease pathogens. Studies done have shown that most serious gut inflammation always arise from dysr egulated immune response to the various parts of the commensal flora. It is therefore to understand that for the host organism to control the mobility of the tissue cells in the gut and the lymphoid tissue, all the meristematic tissue then become actively involved (Juge, Tailford, Owen, 2016). In order to boost the immune system so as to respond to the enteric pathogens, all the inductive site of the intestinal track must be covered by the intravascular nave tissue cells. Even though trafficking of the intravascular tissue cells is a complicated process controlled by a number of steps, it always has to be carried out. Its during this stage that the signaling, adhesion and activation of induced firm adhesion causes an intestinal musical immunity to the bacterial antigens. However, the antigens may enter the Peyers patches through a medium called the M cells where they are endocytosed in the dome region (Logan, Jacka, Prescott, 2016). For successful migration of the nave tissue cells from blood to other secondary lymphoid, high endothelial venules play a greater role. The most important aspect of the tissue cell trafficking in pathogenesis includes adhesive interactions in the induction of intestinal inflammations. A number of adhesion molecules have greater importance in d etermining induction of colonic inflammation using self-limiting models of acute colitis (Hayakawa et al., 2015). Conclusion In conclusion, the gut bacteria play a vital role in human health and diseases. Its also evident that the main role of the gut bacteria is the immunoregulatory function in the pathogenesis of disease. On the other hand, lifestyle and diet also makes one to be greatly susceptible to a number of diseases. Also, drugs and other antibiotics influence the bacterial gut population. However, greater methods such as fecal microbiota transplant have been employed to regulate the gut bacteria. Its therefore recommended to carry out further studies with the aim of establishing the pathogenesis of the gut bacteria and other related diseases. On the other hand, for protection from invasion from enteric pathogens, the intravascular tissue cells must traffic the inductive sites of the intestine. Although if the process is not properly controlled, the enteric antigen produces effector cells which in turn increases the chances of serious intestinal inflammation. It is the responsibility of the lymphoid tissues to act as the inductive sites to prime and polarize the nave tissue cells. The cool air currents brought darkness and meant that seasons were altering and Autumn was coming nigh. Everyone came out to enjoy in the air currents and the darkness that was coming except for Sashka who would see this as clip to remain in his room and compose about the jobs in the kibbutz. As the storyteller describes his homocentric nexus between his description of the landscape as circles he speaks of them as the outside circles being ââ¬Å"The Autumn darknessâ⬠. Within the community of the Kibbutz there is a immature miss named Galila. who is torn on who she should believe is her male parent. At the beginning of the narrative it already says the Galila is the girl of Sashka and at the terminal a adult male named Matityahu Damkov tells her he is her male parent. Who is she to believe? When she was a immature miss she had a captivation watching Damkov work with the Equus caballuss. She couldnââ¬â¢t maintain her eyes off of him while she would masticate on her hair. As she grew older her hatred grew to gross out and she despised him. but as a immature lady she grew to be mercenary and greedy in a sense that it didnââ¬â¢t matter how much she didnââ¬â¢t like Matityahu Damkov she wanted the art supplies he told her he had bought merely for her lone. While she showered she even asked herself ââ¬Å" What does Matityahu Damkov privation of me? â⬠( pg482 ) How could she be so naif? With Matityahu inquiring her to his room and purchasin g art supplies and canvas merely for her it was obvious of his hidden lecherousness for her. Now she still decides to travel to his room despite the feeling she has and he convinces her to remain and imbibe with him. stating her she will acquire the art supplies shortly. He tells her a narrative of when he worked with the Equus caballuss which at first fascinates her and takes her dorsum to when she was younger. He tells her a narrative of how he was shown how to acquire what he calls a ââ¬Å"stupid horseâ⬠( pg488 ) rummy and mad and ready to copulate. He would hold a female horse base on balls so it would acquire the aroma and acquire truly huffy. That was when he knew the Equus caballus was ready to swoop. He described the blood in the eyes and choler and shortness of breath merely as Damkov did to Galila. He brought her by teasing her with the art supplies and so giving her something to imbibe. He would hold her relax and talk to her boulder clay he felt ready. As she relaxed and laid on his bed looking asleep he laid following to her. After a small clip he started to fondle her seeking to quietly and passionately wake here stating her he wanted to run off with her. but as she woke buttoning up her skirt. ( which would give give you the premise he had raped her ) she stated ââ¬Å" This isnââ¬â¢t what I want. I didnââ¬â¢t want to come here at all. Youââ¬â¢re taking advantage of me and making things to me I donââ¬â¢t want and stating all sorts of things because youââ¬â¢re mad and everyone knows youââ¬â¢re huffy ask anyone you like. â⬠( pg491 ) He would acquire huffy and have blood in his eyes and breath deep merely as the Equus caballus. If she truly felt that manner why did she travel? She as many immature females today do as they want and to acquire what they want and effects mean nil boulder clay they are confronted with the danger and bad picks they made. As Galila stands in his room Matityahu looks at her and thi nks to himself ââ¬Å" Sheââ¬â¢s so immature. sheââ¬â¢s a small miss. slender and spoiled. Iââ¬â¢m traveling to nail her to pieces. Slowlyâ⬠( pg490 ) If he believes he is her male parent why would he desire to ache her non physically but mentally and emotionally? Why would he of needed to tease her with the supplies to acquire her to his room? What sort of adult male would look at a female they believe to be their girl and and ravish her and want to ache her? These are inquiries we still ask ourselves today sing child molestation. He tells her he is her male parent and she doesnââ¬â¢t believe and he tells her to fault her female parent if she wants to be huffy non at him. Could that intend that he at one clip was with her female parent or possibly raped her every bit good since he would ever state Galila that she was merely like her female parent. When Matityahu speaks to Tanya. who is the female parent of Galila. they speak with hastiness and unkindness in their voices but we may neer cognize what genuinely happened. Matityahu laughs at Galila and tells her he doesnââ¬â¢t attention whoââ¬â¢s girl she is. Sashkaââ¬â¢s or Ben-Gurionââ¬â¢s. ( pg492 ) In the narrative it says that when Matityahu laid on his bed he summoned a dream. It sayââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"quiet dreams and wild dramsâ⬠( pg490 ) could this be a erratum? Could they be her dreams with Damkov moving as a lens. noise. blare. odors of the kibbutz. dancing Jackals ululation inside her caput. SCHILNDLERS LIST AND ROSEWOOD essays
SCHILNDLER'S LIST AND ROSEWOOD essays So much has been said and written about the achievements of Steven Spielberg and his brand of cinema, that the moment we hear about a new Spielberg film being made, we know what to expect. A high quality action movie falling in the genre of science fiction- but when Schindler's List came out, it turned out to be visual treat of a different kind. Schindler's List was unlike most Spielberg films. And it was this aspect of the film that took everyone by surprise and the whole cinema world by storm. A holocaust Drama by Steven Spielberg! Since when did Spielberg get interested in this genre of movie making' And even if he had actually shown interest in history, does he actually know something about capturing Schindler's List release in 1993 answered all those questions and silenced the critics for once and all. It proved that Spielberg wasn't the king of science fiction alone, he was a master movie maker who knows his job well and so it doesn't matter which genre he chooses provided he is actually interested in it. Schindler's List was a different experience for the director, the world of cinematography and film lovers. This wasn't exactly due to the storyline, which was indeed superb, or the performance of its mostly unknown cast that was indeed perfect but mainly because of its cinematography and camera work that was certainly a class apart. The movie was made superbly and techniques it used only enhanced the impact of a powerful storyline. Instead of opting for certain color palette, Spielberg chose to avoid colors completely thereby shooting the entire movie in black and white. Prince (2001) maintains that black and white movies add to the gravity of the issues conveyed and add a serious touch to the film, and this turns out to be absolutely true in the case of Schindler's List where black and white gives the movie a 1940s feel. It makes the movie look more like a serious documentary,...

Alzheimer Disease Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Alzheimer Disease - Essay Example Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia that attacks the brain and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. The more gradual form, with slow progress of symptoms, begins around ages 65 to 70 and affects approximately 1%-6% of the AD patients. See Table 1.1. About 60% of early-onset AD is familial, with 13% being inherited due to family history [Rocca et al 1991, Campion et al 1999]. A rapidly progressive form begins around ages 36 to 45. Both sexes are affected usually beginning in middle age and older adults, but women are more likely to develop Alzheimer's than men, as women live longer, on average, than men. According to the research from the Aging, Demographics and Memory Study (ADAMS), 14% of all people aged 71 and older have dementia. The estimate done in 2008, states that 2.4 million women and 1 million men aged 71 and older have dementia. As many as 5.3 million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer's. This figure includes 5.1 million people aged 65 and older and 200,000 individuals under age 65 who have younger-onset Alzheimer's. Based on these estimates, approximately 500,000 Americans under age 65 have Alzheimer's or other dementia. Of these, about more than 46% are estimated to have Alzheimer's disease. See Table 1.2 AD is a genetically complex and heterogeneous disorder. Particularly for genetic studies, Alzheimer's disease is often categorized according to age. ... Commonly knowm as the "Mild Cognitive impairment". (Petersen et al. 1999) Mild cognitive impairment is a major focus of research to facilitate early intervention while functional status is preserved. It can be further classified into Psychiatric Genetics or Molecular Genetics. Late on-set Familial AD: According to Smoller, Sheidley and tsuang, the research evidence proves the presence of additional AD genes. For example, the family history (Payami et al, 1997) or monozygotic twin status (Bergem et al, 1997) remains after APOE4 is controlled for. Also, a segregation analysis points to the existence if many additional late on-set AD genes (Daw et al, 2000) and the peak age at onset is in the 60's. Linkage analysis has provided several clues to where such AD genes may reside (reviewed in Bertram and tanzi 2004; Kamboh 2004). Other than the APOE region on chromosomes 9, 10 and 12. (Blacker et al 2003); Myers et al 2002). More than 200 genes have been tested for association with AD, with discouraging results (Alzheimer research Forum 2005; Kamboh 2004). There is a possibility of huge understanding in AD genetics. The discovery of the APP, PSEN1, and PSEN2 has contributed greatly to the AD, and at least 20 drugs are in the process of development in genetics research. These may help in early detection and intervention and further prevention. In addition, the study can help in providing genetic counseling and genetic testing for patients with family history. Early-onset familial AD (EOFAD): Early-onset cases can occur in families with generally late-onset disease (Brickell et al 2006). At least three subtypes of molecular genetics EOFAD (AD1, AD3, and AD4) have been identified based on the causative gene.

Smoking statistics in Great Britain Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Smoking statistics in Great Britain - Essay Example Smoking is incontestably one of the dangerous habits that impose great danger to both smokers and non-smokers. The issue of smoking is a very important matter that needs keen observation due to its worldwide effect. Apart from health problems, smoking also affects the economy of the countries since there are several great hardworking citizens who regularly lost their lives due to smoking. Most governments in the world set big budgets to fight smoking habits instead of using the funds in other sectors that can improve the general lifestyles of their citizens. It is therefore paramount to address smoking and other smoking related issues, as we tend to head to a smoking free world with an intention of saving our lives and economies. This piece of writing features the burning issue of smoking in UK. According to Cancer research in UK, tobacco was initially introduced in UK in the 16th century where it was being smoked in pipes, which later turned to snuff taking and cigar smoking. There has been a record increase in smokers among men since its introduction especially in 1945. Smoking in UK involves both men and women but the number of men smokers are more compared to woman. Smoking is not a common habit among women as compared to men. According to Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) which gave statistical report regarding smoking such as prevalence, habits , attitudes, NHS costs and deaths from smoking related diseases current smokers smoked average of 12.7 cigarettes per day where 20% of the smokers were adults who were aged 16 and over. The report also found that 25% of pupils aged 11 to 15 had tried smoking where as 5% were regular smokers. The number of adult smokers in UK reduced from 39% in 1980 to 20% in 2010 where those aged 20-34 reported the highest prevalence rate of about 27% and adults aged 60 and above reported the lowest prevalence of 13% in 2010. The majority of smokers begin smoking at teenage and the addiction intensifies when they become adults and at this stage, it becomes very difficult to quit the habit. People smoke for different reasons such as the need for adolescent to look mature, peer influence and finally to try out. The fact that most old people such as parents and relat ives smoke, lures the children also to smoke so that they can also look mature. Children may at times be involved in smoking if they see their friends and their peers smoke perhaps to be accepted. People have the tendency of experimenting prohibited things so that they can actually find out the reason for it being outlawed. Parents and the government normally prohibit smoking among children hence making the children sneak away and smoke. It is however interesting to note that grown-ups smoke for some reasons different from the children such as relieving them from stress and pressures due to economic or personal problems.
